Bedford Specialty Sales is proud to support our customers in achieving their business and sustainability goals. In line with this commitment, we are excited to announce our new partnership with BSB Nanotech, the world’s first commercial-scale producer of rice husk-based nanoporous silica.

Through this collaboration, Bedford will distribute BSB Nanotech’s Biosilico materials—innovative, sustainable silica solutions developed from rice husks, a renewable agricultural byproduct. BSB Nanotech’s environmentally friendly silica is already making an impact across industries including Paints & Coatings, Rubber Additives, and Cosmetics.

To ensure consistently high quality and reliable delivery, BSB Nanotech has refined its production processes and earned ISO Quality Management System (QMS) certification in 2020.

Biosilico products are available in a wide range of formats:

• Hydrophilic, Hydrophobic, Superhydrophobic, Oleophobic

• Antimicrobial and Aerogel Silica

Their antimicrobial silica is especially noteworthy—infused with inorganic compounds (silver, copper, and/or zinc), and engineered to provide customizable, long-lasting antimicrobial protection. These compounds are anchored onto rice husk-based silica particles using BSB’s proprietary technology, forming stable, chemically inert nano-containers for controlled, effective release.
